Comic Con is back at the Bartram Trail Branch Library in Julington Creek on Saturday, June 4 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Stop by and make crafts, snap a selfie with a member of the 501st or pick up a comic book. This is an all ages event.

Following Comic Con at 1 p.m., a “How to Make Comics Workshop” will be held with Andre Frattino. This program is for ages 14 – 20. Call for verification as Frattino’s schedule is subject to change.

Sunshine State Book Club for grades six through eight will be held Tuesdays at 3 p.m. on June 14 and 28 and July 12  and 26.

Teen Gamers will be held on the following Saturdays from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.: June 18, July 16 and August 6. Teen Anime Club meetings with be held on the following Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.: June 7 and 21, July 5 and 19 and August 2. Snacks are provided at all these events by the Friends of the Library.

The annual Teen Financial Literacy Workshop will be held on Saturday, June 25 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Instructors for these events are from the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Subjects covered will include: careers and income, spending wisely, saving and investing, credit cards and debit cards, how to buy a car and how to pay for college. Pre-Registration is required; register early as class size is limited.

Older teens will be especially interested in attending the College Admission/Scholarship Essay Workshop on Saturday, July 16 at 11 a.m. The instructor for this program is professional writer and editor, Margalo Eden.  Pre-Registration is required and is limited to high school students only.

These programs do not require a library card to attend; however, if you would like to get one, stop by with a parent and a library card will be made for you.
