The St. Johns County Public Library System has announced that this year’s Summer Reading Program, “The Best Summer” will be presented online from June 1 to Aug. 1. Through the library’s new READsquared website and free app, readers of all ages across the county can log minutes read independently and as a family. To inspire more community reading, the library has set a goal of one million minutes read this summer.

The program’s new “The Best Summer” logo was created through a partnership with Flagler College’s Designathon event that supports local community groups.

Youth Services Librarian Maribeth Wood said, “Not only can patrons track their reading, but they also have the opportunity to participate in online library challenges and collect prizes. Attending virtual programs through the library’s Facebook, YouTube, or Zoom classes is another way to stay connected and show your love for the library.”

Before the program launches June 1, join in the excitement by visiting the library’s new READsquared website, https://sjcplsreads.readsquared.com/. There is also an easy to use free app available for Apple and Android devices.

The READsquared online program is sponsored by the library’s multiple Friends of the Library groups. Visit https://sjcpls.org/ or contact your local library to learn more about the library’s 2020 Summer Reading Program.
