Walk to Defeat ALS

FAMILIES AND PATIENTS JOIN THE MOVEMENT TO DEFEAT ALS  Walk to Defeat ALS ® at Seven Bridges/Tinseltown on April 4, 2020

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – On Saturday, April 4th, thousands of people will gather at Seven Bridges/Tinseltown in Jacksonville to join the fight to find a cure for a deadly disease. ALS progressively
paralyzes its victims, attacking nerve cells and pathways in the brain or spinal cord, taking away their ability to walk, talk, eat and eventually breathe. ALS has no known cause or cure, but the Jacksonville community is rallying together to change that.
“Jacksonville continues to show outstanding support for the ALS community each year for our Walk to Defeat ALS,” says Anne Warner, event chair. “Our walkers couldn’t be more fired up for this opportunity to join forces to increase awareness about this devastating disease and raise money for a desperately-needed cure.”
All interested walkers should contact Michelle Decker at 888-257-1717 x130 or MDecker@alsafl.org, or register online at www.WalktoDefeatALS.org.

WHAT: An annual walk to unlock ALS research and treatment; The Walk to Defeat ALS® is the #1 way to unite and fundraise for those living with ALS. Each year, fundraising through the Walk drives bold and urgent innovation as we march together toward a cure for ALS.
WHEN: Saturday, April 4, 2020, Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Walk starts at 10 am.
WHERE: Seven Bridges/Tinseltown | 9735 Gate Pkwy N | Jacksonville, FL | 32216
WHY: We walk to honor those who are fighting this disease as well as their caregivers. Money raised from the walk fuels our goals to provide assistance and advocacy for people with ALS and their families at every stage of the disease and allows for more advanced research toward a cure.
