    The St. Augustine Art Association presents the HOUGHTON SINGERS POP A CAPPELLA ENSEMBLE in a free concert Tuesday, February 28th at 7 p.m. This highly selective group of top singers from New York's Greatbatch School of Music at Houghton College is currently touring the southern U.S. Their energetic performances have generated a buzz on social media, thanks to the popularity of the television singing competition "The Sing Off."  The group's repertoire includes music from all genres. The hour-long concert will take place in the acoustically dynamic and elegant setting of the St. Augustine Art Association Main Gallery at 22 Marine Street, one block west of the City Marina. Doors open at 6 p.m. A goodwill offering will be accepted. Parking in downtown St. Augustine is free after 5 p.m.  For information and to reserve a seat, call (904) 824-2310.

    I Did A Hike Annual Fundraiser

    March 4, the I Did A Hike.  This is the primary annual fundraiser for the Florida Trail Association (a non-profit). The registration fee is $20.  All proceeds go to supporting the Florida Trail.This year's hike is fairly close by -- along the Suwanee River, near White Springs, FL.  There are three potential hike lengths -- 3, 5 and 8 1/2 miles.  The route is very picturesque, paralleling the Suwanee River in many places.Registration will be at the Heritage Welcome Center, 10499 Spring Street, White Springs, FL, from 8-10am.  Note this is NOT inside the Stephen Foster Cultural Center Park. From the registration area hikers will be ferried to the hike start point. End point is back at the Heritage Welcome Center.Hikers travel at their own pace.  There is minimal change in elevation.  The trail is well marked (blazed) and easy to follow.  Hikers are advised to wear comfortable close toed shoes, dress in layers, wear a hat, and apply sun screen and bug spray. It's also advisable to bring a bottle of water per hiker on the trip and a snack. Hikers can either pack a lunch or purchase lunch in town. More info can be found at

The Retro River Run is open to just 2,204 participants, which is the number of people who ran the very first River Run in 1978. The cost to enter is just five bucks, which was the standard entry fee in the late 1970s. The race begins at 6 p.m. and starts and ends at the Jacksonville Landing.
