    (JACKSONVILLE) – The public is invited to the Breakfast with Our Heroes to honor Purple Heart recipients, meet those that served and extend helping hands to homeless veterans in reemployment programs.  Salute our Nation’s Combat Wounded to commemorate the upcoming National Purple Heart Day on Aug 7th.

    Where:  Applebee’s, 5055 J. Turner Butler, Jacksonville 32216 near I-95 and US-1

    When:  Saturday, August 3, 2019, from 8 to 10 a.m.

    Seating is limited:  Cost is $12 each or 3 for $30.

    Purple Heart Recipients:  Complimentary

    St. Johns County 4-H Youth Development Program Seeks VolunteersSt. Johns County, Fl – The St. Johns County 4-H Youth Development Program is seeking club and project volunteers to work with youth ages 5 to 18. Orientation for new club and projectvolunteers will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6 at the St. Johns County UF/IFAS Extension Office, 3125 Agricultural Center Drive. Volunteers will have an opportunityto help local youth learn leadership, communication, and a variety of life skills through interactive topics, including animal and plant science, healthy living, citizenship, environmental education,technology, food preparation, and photography. Scheduling is flexible and volunteers determine subject areas they prefer. The 4-H Office will provide full assistance, including training, officesupport, resource materials, and project curriculum.
