Give Back to the Beach special St. Johns County beach cleanup scheduled from Dec. 19

By NewsLine Staff

Due to a unique combination of weather and tide conditions, St. Johns County beaches are currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of land based debris washing up on our beaches. In response, St. Johns County is partnering with Keepers of the Coast, Scenic A1A and GTMNERR to host an emergency “Give Back to the Beach” cleanup event from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, Dec. 19.

Participants will be provided gloves, garbage bags, hand sanitizer and data sheets, and community service hours will be available. Those interested in participating can register at any of the following locations on the day of the event:

St. Johns County

• Mickler’s Beachfront Park – 11091⁄2 Ponte Vedra Blvd.

• Vilano Beach – 2725 Anahma Drive
• St Augustine Beach Pier – 350 A1A Beach Blvd
• Crescent Beach – 6930 A1A South
