What is a spirit group?

By Dr. Madelyn Speagle

At Shepherd of the Woods Lutheran School, our Spirit Group is a service club that spreads God’s love throughout the community. The Spirit Group kicked off its first meeting in October by making birthday and get well cards.

They also designed their group’s shirt with a dove on the front and Galatians 5:22, “But the fruit of the spirt is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness..” on the back. The students strive to live out that verse every day.

The Spirit Group meets once a month to make birthday, holiday, get well and thank you cards. They also prepare service projects and take field trips to deliver their cards to local assisted living facilities amd other organizations.

If you are interested in your child joining our Spirit Group, please contact, Angie Ervin at 641-3393.

Dr. Madelyn Speagle is the principal of Shepherd of the Woods Lutheran School.
