Originally from South Florida, Ellen Leroy-Reed’s travels brought her to the First Coast a decade ago and she immediately fell in love with the area. Leroy-Reed studied business administration at St. Leo University. As both a former Gala Director with the American Heart Association and a former Director of Development/Sponsorship with One Spark, Reed’s love for the community is extraordinary.

Get to Know … Jeanette Toohey

Jeanette Toohey, a graduate of Northwestern University and the University of Rhode Island, has been director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, known as OLLI, at the University of North Florida since 2010. In her first career, she was an art historian who worked as a museum curator. Toohey has served on a variety of boards and committees for local, regional and national associations and nonprofit organizations. She was named one of Jacksonville’s “Women of Influence” in 2012 and received the American Association of Museums’ award for “Excellence in Peer Review Service” in 2006.

Florida native Susie Scott spent much of her childhood in central Florida. Her early teen years were enjoyed in Jacksonville Beach before moving to St. Johns County in 1983. At that time, Scott was mostly attracted to the rural aspect of the county. Even still, she enjoys living on the peaceful setting of the St. Johns River, while so many amenities are also close by.

His parallel career in illustration and architecture has prepared him for this more relaxed phase of his life, painting and drawing with his faithful dog Louie by his side.

Born and raised in Melbourne, Fla., Ricke Ricciardelli moved to St. Johns County in 2002. Ricciardelli and her husband, a retired law enforcement officer, enjoy living in the Cascades neighborhood of World Golf Village. Ricciardelli relishes spending time with her family and gives much of her time to Wards Creek Elementary as a volunteer.
