Get to Know … Cole Slate

Born and raised in the Jacksonville area, Cole Slate is a long time resident of St. Johns. As a child, Slate resided in Julington Creek. Now a resident of RiverTown, he is still proud to live in the community that means so much to him. A graduate of Bartram Trail High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Florida, Slate remains heavily involved with both of his alma maters. Often attending games, offering sponsorships and volunteering, Slate enjoys giving back to the people and places he holds dear. Currently enjoying his work in Real Estate, Slate takes pride in helping old and new friends find their home in St. Johns. He met his fiance, Laura Lander, during a kickball tournament and the two will marry in May 2019. Slate is currently serving on the advisory board of Best Buddies International and is a long time volunteer for this organization that focuses primarily on special needs children.

Get to Know … William Miller

William (Will) Miller grew up in Miami. He earned his degree in business administration with a minor in finance from Florida State University. He and his wife, Laura, have been married for 42 years and moved to Jacksonville 11 years ago. The two share a close knit family of seven children, 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Miller’s 32-year career was spent in the insurance industry before retirement. Over the years, Miller has enjoyed remodeling homes, a skill he believes was instilled in him at a young age by helping his parents around their home. Miller is a six year member of the Mandarin Community Club and has served as the vice president of the club for three years. The Millers enjoy living in Mandarin and being nearby to close family and friends.

Get To Know … Peggy Campbell-Rush

As a lifelong educator, Ponte Vedra Beach resident Peggy Campbell-Rush has touched the lives of thousands of students and teachers, both in the classroom and as an author of seven books. A key leader at the Bolles School, she serves as Head of Lower School at the PVB campus, a Pre-K through fifth grade school with 200 students coming from across the country and beyond. Her Bolles leadership role is a high point of more than 42 years in the profession. She’s proud to say that her three children have followed her teaching path.

Get to Know … Jerald Jay

Jacksonville native Jerald Jay grew up on the Northside. He received his degree in music from Florida State University. After college graduation, he moved back to his hometown and began teaching at the school his mother, a former public school teacher, began in 1983. The Little Country School is where Jay spends a great deal of time as an administrator, teacher and headmaster. Jay grew up in church and has been involved with music direction inside of churches for the past 25 years. Currently, he serves as music director at First Christian Church in Mandarin.

Get to Know … “Santa” Kevin Mason

Kevin Mason, also known as Santa Kevin, grew up in Minnesota. He is a United States Navy Veteran. Much of his career was spent in San Diego, Calif., a post he took so that he could visit with his beloved grandmother on Sundays, as she lived nearby. Mason also served in Norfolk, Va. and NAS Jax Cecil Field. He retired in 2003 and enjoys living in the Southcreek subdivision of St. Johns.
