Elite swim team holds camp at Olympic Swim Trials

Members of the elite swim team from Planet Swim Aquatics in Ponte Vedra Beach attended summer swim camp in Omaha, Neb. during the Olympic Swim Trials, held June 29 – July 3. Planet Swim’s elite team was joined in Omaha by 14 Brazilian elite swimmers.

The Loggerhead Aquatics 11 – 12 girls’ relay team now holds the Florida Swimming LSC record in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Sara Stotler, Brooke Arnold, Anna Moore and Emma Chestang recently shattered the previous record which was set way back in 2003 — the year all four girls were born.

Hulvey’s perfect storm

As Jackie Robinson once said, “A life is not important, except in the impact it has on other lives.”

This can be observed throughout the communities of St. Johns and Mandarin, but more specifically within the swimming community. John Hulvey is an example of a local coach who has significantly touched the lives of athletes on a wide scale.
