The Bartram Trail High School varsity cheer squad competed at the UCA National High School Cheerleading Competition at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Feb. 6 – 7, 2016. This is the most prestigious, invitation-only, national championships of its kind in the country, including more than 13,000 cheerleaders across 635 teams.

The Bartram Trail varsity cheerleaders brought an explosive, high energy routine to the Large Varsity DI division and placed 12th out of a field of 36 competitors from across the U.S. Their performance landed them just 0.3 short of the finals. This is only the second year this team has competed at UCA Nationals and scoring in the top 12 is an achievement.

“The team has battled injuries all season, yet continued to perform outstanding. The season may be over, but the memories and friendships will last a lifetime,” said Varsity Coach Danielle Parker.

The UCA National High School Cheerleading Competition topped off a season of accomplishments for the Bartram Trail varsity cheerleaders, including:

First Place Champions – UCA Regional Qualifier, Tampa
Runner-Up – Florida High School Athletic Association Region 2, Palm Coast
Runner-Up – Florida High School Athletic Association State Championships, Tampa
