Two large dogs with lots of love and shenanigans to offer — that’s Anna and Henry in a nutshell. Add “local celebrities” to the list as they are both featured in the 2025 Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida (LRRoF) calendar, which is hot off the press and available to purchase.
The calendar costs $25 (includes shipping) and is a collection of beautiful photos of Labradors rescued by LRRoF taken by talented local and statewide photographers. Anna and Henry’s photo session was taken by Amy Olivieri, who is a professional lifestyle and documentary style photographer based in Atlantic Beach.
“The session was so much fun for Anna and Henry,” said Michele Oliver, who, with husband Ben Oliver, are proud “parents” to the rescues. “Amy was so patient and the photos were all wonderful — I know it was hard to just choose one!”
Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida was founded in 2000 as a grassroots organization. Enlisting hardworking volunteers and veterinarian partners, it is committed to placing Labs in loving new homes. The non-profit provides foster care, veterinary care, spaying/neutering and microchips for the Labradors in their adoption program. Their goal is to place Labradors in appropriate, permanent homes. Prior to an adoption, LRRoF considers the history, temperament, personality, and energy level of the rescued Labrador. The placement process includes a written application and a home visit of the potential adopter.
Anna (aka Anna Banana and formerly named Rhett) joined the Oliver family in February 2020 in the midst of Covid and uncertainty. She was two years old and found wandering the streets.
“She’s so sweet with everyone, kids especially, and a complete goofy girl who loves to run in the nearby dog park and make new friends, enjoy treats and stretch out on her own twin bed and couch,” said Oliver.
Henry joined the Olivers in February 2024 when they adopted him from LRRoF as a senior formerly named Lucky.
“He’s eight years old, but has the energy of a much younger dog and enjoys his daily walks as well as downtime, when he watches movies with us on his soft dog bed,” said Oliver. “He is gentle with kids and very friendly with our neighbors. Henry is highly intelligent and adapted to being with Anna and our family very quickly.”
