Q: Do you have some helpful information about a jury scam that is currently going around?
A: The Clerk’s office manages jury services for the county. We have recently heard that scammers are calling citizens and requesting payments for failure to appear at jury duty. You will never receive an unsolicited phone call about jury services from the Clerk of Court’s office. Any jury summons or failure to appear notice will always be delivered by mail. If you are a target of a scam, do not provide any personal or financial information. If you have any questions or would like to verify any communication, you can reach out to our jury coordinator at (904) 819-3629.

Q: Have there been any recent judicial appointments in St. Johns County?
A: Due to the November General Election and retirements, we have had some updated judicial assignments made for St. Johns County. The Family Division welcomed two new judges to preside over the Unified Family Court: Judge Chris Ferebee and Judge Joan Anthony. The Unified Family Court gives families the opportunity to appear in front of the same judge for all matters, to ensure that the judge is familiar with all aspects of the family’s dynamics. We also welcomed a new judge to our Civil Division: Judge Kenneth Janesk, who was recently appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis.
