Q: What can you tell us about the podcast you’ve recently launched?

A: It’s called SJSO Unlocked, and it has been a goal of mine for years. Last year we hired Taylor Levesque, who is a former First Coast News journalist with the skillset to put this together for us. With this podcast, we want to highlight the agency and topics of interest.

Q: How often are new episodes released?

A: This is still a work in progress and right now, we are aiming for one per month. There’s a lot of work behind the scenes to get everything prepared for distribution. We may put episodes out more frequently as popularity grows.

Q: What are some of the topics that have already aired?

A: The current episode features members of our K9 Unit. The one before that, we had Madison Schemitz with us to discuss her recovery and work in the community. We had a request from a citizen to highlight our Aviation Unit, so we’ll have our pilots on in the near future.

Q: How can people access the podcast?

A: SJSO Unlocked is available to listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeartRadio, Amazon Music, and Pandora. If you want to watch, it is available on YouTube. Visit https://rss.com/podcasts/sjsounlockedpodcast/ for easy access. We are always looking for topics that would interest the public; email unlockedpodcast@sjso.org with episode ideas or any questions.

Q: What is the best way for our readers to contact you with any questions or suggestions about this article?

A: They can email me at sheriff@sjso.org or call me at (904) 824-8304. Also, our website, www.sjso.org has a wealth of resources, from alarm registration to Crime Stoppers to our Neighbors app.
