American Legion, Elks and high school cadets honor veterans

Just in time for Memorial Day, American Legion Post 372 partnered with Mandarin Elks Lodge #2866 and the Mandarin High School NJROTC program on May 24 to place approximately 1,500 flags on veterans’ graves at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Fourteen Post 372 members and their families participated along with nine Elks and 12 NJROTC cadets.

Carl Jowers, Post 372 Adjutant, said, “We give a heartfelt thanks to everyone who assisted in honoring those veterans who have transferred to Post Everlasting.”
