Throughout her career, Smith has focused on giving back to the community. She co-chairs the African Heritage Network, has supported the MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation and created an employee-mentoring program at Citi Cards.

Jim Clark, CEO of Daniel Kids, said Smith’s expertise will be instrumental in helping the board raise and manage the funds needed to help the abused, neglected and emotionally troubled children served by Daniel Kids.

A native of Ohio, Smith has lived in Jacksonville for more than 10 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human ecology from The Ohio State University.
