On Nov. 5, the Rotary Club of Mandarin completed a two-day project to build a lengthy wheelchair ramp at the home of Barbara Sapp. The ramp is the 64th built by the Rotary Club in conjunction with Hart Felt Ministries, which provides the construction materials. Club members provide all of the labor, and are led by project coordinator Louis Dunbar.

All of the ramps are built free of charge at homes of mobility-impaired local residents, and make it much easier for these residents to enter and leave their homes when they would otherwise be homebound. The ramp built for Sapp is the largest ever built by the Rotary Club.

The Rotary Club of Mandarin is dedicated to serving its fellow citizens in need, with a motto of “Service Above Self.” Contact Membership Chairman Michael Sullivan at michaels@coj.net for more information about the club, which meets for breakfast every Tuesday morning at the Ramada Inn on Hartley Road in Mandarin.
