Patrons of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall now have a new spot to enjoy cocktails and conversation before, during and after shows, thanks to the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.
On Friday, Feb. 2, approximately 200 people joined the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall and the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall staff to celebrate the official unveiling of the brand new 925 square feet outdoor terrace located adjacent to the Concert Hall. Festivities included a champagne toast, ribbon cutting, photo booth, dancing and live entertainment from The Chris Thomas Band.
Due to the successful fundraising efforts by the nonprofit group, the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall presented the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division, which owns and operates the Concert Hall, with a $50,000 check last November to fund the construction of the outdoor space. The outdoor deck, formally named the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall Terrace, is located on the northern side of the Concert Hall and can accommodate approximately 125 people. The Terrace will feature a full bar and access to local food trucks offering concert attendees several food options.
Steve Gard, president of Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall since 2012 said, “I’m grateful for the generosity of the Friends members that made the outdoor deck possible. I believe that the deck will enhance the experience of those attending events at the Concert Hall by creating a place where people can socialize with their friends while not disturbing those listening to music inside.”
The Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is a group of local citizens
who formed the organization to support the Concert Hall in Ponte Vedra Beach, which opened in February 2011. Membership, as low as $50 annually, is open to patrons interested in supporting quality performing arts programming that enhances cultural activities in the community.
The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is a multi-use performing arts facility located at 1050 A1A North in Ponte Vedra Beach. It is owned and operated by the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division, which also owns and operates the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
