On Jan. 29, more than 20 teams lined up their boards and prepared to take home first prize as they tossed their way to success in the school’s first cornhole tournament. Families, friends and staff from Ocean Palms Elementary joined in for some competitive afternoon fun, all the while contributing to the school’s fundraising endeavors.

The event raised just under $1,000 to support the school’s Sunshine State reading program. With first place earning a popcorn or popsicle party for their class, followed by second prize with 30 minutes of extra recess, and third prize, which gave the winner the opportunity to dress as the otter mascot for carline, it was a true toss off.
