The second annual Alice B. Landrum Cross Country Invitational brought together middle school teams from Liberty Pines Academy, Palm Valley Academy, Lake Asbury Junior High, St. John’s Academy, Duval Charter School at Coastal and host Landrum Middle School. Despite a rainy start, the weather cleared for the 3K races. The event showcased impressive performances, with notable individual achievements from Vespo Latino (first place, girls’ race) and Liam Heffernan (first place, boys’ race), both from Landrum.
In the girls’ race, strong finishes included Hayden Warren (second place, Liberty Pines), Lucy Lommel (third place, Landrum), Audra Davis (fourth place, Landrum), and Micaela Simpson (fifth place, Palm Valley). In the team standings, Landrum secured first place, followed by Palm Valley, Lake Asbury, Liberty Pines, St. John’s Academy and Duval Charter School at Coastal.
For the boys, standout finishes were from Louis Lyons (second place, Liberty Pines), Collin Bovee (third place, Landrum), Rafe Lommel (fourth place, Landrum), and Ben Kimber (fifth place, Landrum). The boys’ team rankings had Landrum in first, followed by Palm Valley, Lake Asbury, Liberty Pines, St. Johns Academy, and Duval Charter School at Coastal.
