Trevor Gibbs, meteorologist from Action News Jax First Alert Weather, was the guest speaker at the June 7 Coastal Friends luncheon held at Marsh Landing Country Club. Gibbs, who joined the Action News Jax team in October 2022, presented a PowerPoint slide show to the many attendees about hurricane preparedness, hurricane history, and tips for staying safe during the hurricane season which started June 1.

Gibbs graduated from College of Charleston in South Carolina with degrees in meteorology and physics and a minor in communications. After graduating college, he spent some time in the Hudson Valley of New York providing forecasts and routes for ships across the globe. In 2020, he returned south and was a meteorologist for WFXG in Atlanta, Georgia for their five-hour morning show. In his free time, Gibbs is an avid practitioner of yoga and became a certified yoga teacher in college. He finds yoga an exceptional way to counteract the high demands life can have.
