🗺️ Nassau County Government Meetings

  • Board of County Commissioners (BOCC): Meetings for the five County Districts (District 1: Fernandina Beach, District 3: Yulee, District 4: Hilliard, District 5: Callahan, etc.)
  • Nassau County School District: The School Board holds regular board meetings and workshops (a regular board meeting is typically held on the second and fourth Monday of each month, but schedules can vary).
  • Ocean, Highway and Port Authority (OHPA): This entity, which was created in 1941, has authority over the Port of Fernandina. It generally meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m..
  • Planning & Zoning Board (PZB): This board typically meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Commission Chambers.

🏙️ Duval County / Jacksonville Meetings

Since Duval County operates under a consolidated government, many essential agencies are considered “Autonomous Agencies” or independent boards.

  • Jacksonville City Council (JCC): Meetings for the 14 Districts and At-Large seats.
    • JCC Committees: Includes key committees that meet regularly, such as the Finance Committee, Land Use & Zoning Committee, and the Transportation, Energy & Utilities Committee.

In St. Johns County, you have the main governing body, incorporated cities, and several crucial Special Districts that manage resources and services in specific geographic areas.

🗺️ Special Districts and Authorities

  • St. Augustine – St. Johns County Airport Authority Board: A five-member elected board.
  • Anastasia Mosquito Control District (AMCD): Provides mosquito control services and research.
  • Ponte Vedra Municipal Services District (PVMSD): This special district typically meets on the second Monday of the month.
  • Port, Waterway, and Beach District.
  • Community Development Districts (CDDs): Independent districts that finance, build, and maintain community infrastructure, such as St Johns Forest CDD, Glen St. Johns CDD, and Madeira CDD.
